Music in the church

Description of what music is: A melodious sound produced by a human voice or an instrument.

What does Christ want in his church: as he has said and not us, when you have singing accompanied by and instrument you have two kinds of music, what does the Lord want, Eph 5:19 notice, "speaking to yourselves, in Psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs, SINGING and makling MELODY IN YOUR HEARTS TO THE LORD" Singing is music, God wants us to worship him by singing praises to his name, he condemns adding anything else to our worship other than what he has specified, Rev 22:18-19. In the old testament, God allowed man to do then what he does not today, David was the man who introduced an instrument to incorporate his worship, God allowed it then. God in his new testament called it ignorance, Acts 17:30; when we take it upon ourselves to add instruments into worship, for what ever reason we see fit, we change God's word, Rom 1:25 Christ tells us through his inspiration to Paul what kind of music is pleasing to him. 2 Tim 3:14-17

If you love me, keep my commandments John 14:15

What kind of music is acceptable to God and Christ? This is the utmost important thing that will determine whether we worship according to God's plan and word. John 4:24 "God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in Spirit and in Truth" to worship in spirit and truth, we have to worship as he commans.

"I will sing with the spirit and with the understanding" 1 Cor 14:15
