Baptism

What is baptism and purpose

God's plan for man to be saved was a figure of cleansing the soul from sin, in the passage Peter wrote,  1 Peter 3:12 "not for the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but an answer  of a good conscience toward God"

Back go sermon subjects

Baptism is for the remission of sins,  Jesus told Nicodemas, John 3:5 "except ye be born of water and of spirit, ye cannot enter into the Kingdom of God"
Saul was told in Acts 22:16  "why terriest thou, arise and be baptised and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord"

On the day of Penticost in Acts 2, the apostles informed the Jews, "Repent, and be baptised into the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" The gife is not the Holy Ghost, but the way of salvation that comes through
Jesus Christ in obedience of his gospel plan that was broutht to us by the Holy Ghost.

Jesus sais in John 14:15 "if you love me, keep my commandments"
